With roots in Antwerp and a second studio in Hurghada, Egypt, Loulou’s work bridges the elegance of European minimalism with the mysticism of the Middle East. Her pieces are a testament to the power of balance — between natural chaos and mathematical precision, physical material and spiritual essence.

Central to her practice is a deep respect for eco-conscious materials and traditional craftsmanship. Loulou’s paper art paintings are meticulously layered, creating cosmic forms reminiscent of vortexes and lagoons. Using carefully selected eco-paper and textiles, supported by copper frameworks and enveloped in delicate silk paper, each piece is an invitation to explore the harmony between earthly and celestial beauty.

A signature of her work is the brush, symbolizing a nod to Zen, Buddhism, and Eastern dedication to detail. Each black piece is finished on the back with deep red, inspired by old Feng Shui principles to bring success and strength to a space. Much like the iconic soles of Louboutin shoes, this bold and unexpected feature adds a hidden layer of energy and sophistication, making even the unseen parts of her work resonate with meaning.

At the heart of her Black Allure collection lies a hidden palette of colors, inspired by the iridescent feathers of her loyal crow, a companion of 18 years. While the works initially appear in black, closer inspection reveals a symphony of deep blues, greens, and purples, reflecting the subtle mysteries of nature and the cosmos.
